Mark packed up his Nikon D800 and headed down to the Golden State for an unforgettable engagement session. He had a blast shooting Sarah and Carl’s engagement photos in San Francisco, California, and it was the longest engagement session he’s ever done!
Engagement photos are a great way to not only get images to use for save the date cards and invitations, but also for your wedding photographer to get to know you as a couple. Because the more comfortable you are with your photographer the better they’ll be able to capture what makes you YOU at the wedding. For an Oregon wedding photographer shooting a destination wedding in California, this session is very important! And for an Oregon wedding photographer shooting a destination wedding and engagement session in San Francisco, California, opportunities abounded: Mark had a shot list of shots he wanted while in the iconic city – the Painted ladies, Golden Gate Bridge, the Trolley and some motion blur – all while capturing Sarah and Carl’s story. Check it out!
Sarah and Carl met in 2006 while both working at the famous burger chain, In N Out, but didn’t start dating until 2008. Five years later he proposed. He had waited until Sarah’s family was visiting from the Philippines for Christmas. Her mother brought with her the ring, which Carl had made by one of Sarah’s friends in the Philippines. It was a wonderful surprise to Sarah and the rest of her family.
The first stop during their engagement photo shoot was the painted ladies . This is where they filmed Full House. (Or and least the beginning!) It was definitely crowded, but they waited for that perfect shot to present itself and Mark was there with his Nikon D800 to capture it at just the right time.
San Francisco skyline love this shot!
“This shot makes me think of Elf “I am in Love in Love and don’t care who knows it ” Lol” – Mark L.
These shots turned out great! Who knows – maybe the couple will return after their destination wedding for a trash the dress session in front of the Golden Gate Bridge? Engagement Photos with the Golden Gate bridge in the Back ground – so lucky! Yet another iconic landmark captured!
The City provided the perfect backdrop for Mark to play with different camera settings like shutter speed. Check out these photos where Mark slowed down the shutter speed on his Nikon D800 keeping Sarah and Carl in focus while blurring the people in motion passing by.
San Francisco trolley photos! Another shot on Mark’s shot list. The trolley provided a beautiful and simple space to really focus on the couple and provide some beautiful images. And before this Oregon wedding photographer headed home, he captured this last iconic shot. For this shot Mark and the couple just stopped in the middle of Farrell Street and just let the many people just walk around them.
This is one of Marks personal all-time favorite shots. This was also Sarah and Carl’s favorite shot.
Sarah and Carl look forward to tying the knot on September 21st, 2013 at The Lodge Renaissance Resort and Spa in Sonoma, California – an awesome venue for a destination wedding! They have said they had a great time laughing with and getting to know Mark, and that the engagement photo session was one of the best experiences for them!
